Watwat

Watwat Surf Spot Guide, China Nestled in a rugged corner of China's coastline, Watwat delivers hollow, fast, and powerful reef waves that fire up on northwest swells, carving perfect lines over a sharp coral and rock bottom. This experienced-only gem offers an uncrowded vibe where sessions feel like your own private barrel fest, with waves […]

Seal Tub Beach

Was living in Weihai for six months and stumbled on this spot when I went to the restaurant. Breaks irregularly on a howling northerly but holds reasonable shape. Surfed at shoulder to head high. Buoyweather.com gives pretty good predictions. Only short swell window.

Gremmies

Car park safe during day time. Paddle out close to the rocks. Watch out for fisherman.

Sandpoep Shorey

Pretty sick little shorey with some good barrels usually. Closes out, pretty straight forward mainly for bodyboarding, worth checking out when everything else is outta control or too big.

Red Nose Rock

You take off on a Flat Rock called red nose rock. the take off can be very shallow depending on where you sit after the take off the wave fades a bit so carve a nice cutback and wait for it to build again. It then becomes very powerful as it runs over rock ledges to the beach.

Buffalo Bay (Oyster Banks)

Noone hardly surfs it but it gets very good. Sharks are a problem but stay alert and enjoy.

Railways

It isn't really a wave to ride but it is one of the sickest and steepest drops ever. It is a bit dodgy coming out at high tide because of the waves running against the breakers, be extremely careful for rips.

Potjielos

Heavy wave doesnt always work properly, not because of lack of swell but cause all the elements with wind need to be good for it to work properly. High tide only. Shallow and hectic. Experienced surfers only. Tricky to find.

Mysto Freight Trains

Crazy spot only a few have surfed. Grinding wave breaks off a few kelp covered slabs.

Die Poort

Hardly anyone ever surfs this wave except a few locals but it gets classic under the right conditions. It breaks left and rights, a good split peak and does get super hollow and fairly long at its best. Switches on better in winter and like medium to large swell 4-7 to start doing showing the goods but surprises you often also throughout the year.
