Natadola reef

Natadola Reef Surf Spot Guide, Fiji Nestled along Fiji's stunning Coral Coast, Natadola Reef delivers powerful hollow waves over a sharp coral reef bottom, offering rights and lefts that thrill surfers seeking uncrowded sessions. This reef break pulses with energy on the right swell, creating barrels and fast sections that reward precise positioning, all wrapped […]

Mini Cloudbreak

Maqai

An amazing surfing experience is offered directly out front of Maqai Beach Resort. Staying at Maqai you cant get any closer to the waves they are directly offshore – no long boat rides to cut into your surf time – a 5 minute boat ride will have you surfing Maqai.

The reefs in front of Maqai are a surfer’s dream come true. Crowds are non-existent with warm water, lefts and rights. There are 5 awesome surf breaks located close to the beach ranging from world-class barrels to playful learner waves.

The right hander known as Maqai is the most consistent of the waves peeling up to 300metres. This wave peels in 3 sections, a hollow barrel up the reef to mid section , a more mellow wave in the middle and a fun wave for intermediates on the end section.

The left hander is a fun playful wave suitable for intermediate surfers.

When its overhead the Maqai left starts to break this is a wave for experienced surfers delivering perfect barrels.

The best surf season is October – May when the winds are up from the north.

King Kong Left

better to go deep n take off on the smaller ones(wall up longer)Line up with a trench(crack on the bottom of the reef)Set's break wider so always keep an eye on them....+Awesome wave as is the Nagigia Resort. Anyone going to Fiji should not overlook it!! It's remote and easily comparable to any other resort in Fiji. Although only the adventures should go. A lot of boating and scary 4 seater planes.+Ideal break for anyone looking to try their hand at a reef wave. MUCH safer than Tavarua etc. Normally surfed on a mid tide plus, so there´s more water under your feet. Gets very hairy when the swell picks up and the tide drops. Offshore in the trade winds. Bring your reef boats. Surf guide on hand at all times. Friendly people on Nagigia island. Not cheap, but worth every penny.

Lighthouse

U FIND IT SOUTH OF LITTLE CLOUDBREAK, ON THE LIGHTHOUSE

macas' bend

The local resort will transport you out there by boat and drop you there for 2 hours for $20. Depending on the swell direction the wave wraps around the reef creating a hollow takeoff, with a few sections before closing out on dry reef. Its predominantly a right but the left opens up from the take off and is very fast and short before it closes out. Its very easy to get caught by the sets as the water moving around the reef pushes you in around alot.

Hideaway

Be very quick to your feet, set rail and pull in. Race through to the end section and out into deep water.
