Guernsey - Vazon Reef

The reef consists of a left and right that break only during high tide over the rocky outcrop in the middle of Vazon bay. The left starts working on a lower tide and consists of a fast ledgy takeoff right next to the infamous "nipple rock" followed by a disappointing slow inside section. On a larger spring tide the right starts to produce equally fast ledgy takeoffs followed by a longer inside wall. Generally a fun wave which can occasionally produce some really good and hollow waves when big. As with most of the spots at Vazon it is not as exposed to swell or winds as spots like perelle and therefore can be a good place to head when conditions aren't clean.

Guernsey - Vazon Beach

The beach is directly below the northern end of the surfers carpark at Vazon. Requiring a relatively good sized swell to start working the beach at Vazon generally consists of slow predominately righthand waves breaking over the beach at the northern end of Vazon bay. Behaving differently depending upon the tide, low tide Vazon consists of steeper and more powerful waves that have a tendancy to close-out. Mid to high tide when on the push produces better shape, with fun right-hand walls all the way to the inside, unfortunately this is at the expense of power as the wave become slow and weak. On bigger tides the backwash from the seawall makes the beach unsurfable.

Guernsey - Centres

Centres consists of 2 waves that are only surfable with a good sized swell on a spring high tide. Firstly, breaking over the outside reef is a rarely surfed hollow peak which on it's day produces good longish rights and a respectable left. These waves then die out and reform over an inside sandbank. This peak produces short, fast and very hollow waves which break predominately right all the way to the beach. Unfortunately it generally gets messy when big.
